Luke Bousfield is a junior student at Timberline High School in Boise. Luke is working with Dr. Ryu on various drone projects through iDrone Highschool Summer Internship Program.
Specifically, he has been working on a machine learning system which can visually detect weeds and crops from aerial photos, which can be taken by drones flying over the field. After working on this project for a while, he can safely say that the only thing that’s more complicated than the math in these algorithms is the jargon that’s thrown around in the computer vision community.
